DAVID'S AWESOME ADVENTURE

Eleven-year-old David Busch and his family travel to Hawaii for the summer vacation of a lifetime. With his four closest friends joining him on the trip, David surprisingly meets up with his biggest idol, a pro football player named Larry Thomson from the San Diego Chargers. After receiving a personal invitation to visit Larry at his Hawaiian palace, the six boys head out for an adventure-filled afternoon. But trouble lurks when the boys wander off into the tropical paradise near Larry’s home in search of a cascading waterfall, and after one of the boys falls down a cliff, it’s a race against time to get help before young Clayton suffers a serious injury. This is a must-read for those boys who not only love a good old-fashioned suspense story, but also those who love professional football and the captivating athletes who play the game.

Once we arrived in our rooms, we couldn’t believe the furnishings. The beds were huge and very soft, but the best part of all was the marble bathroom which seemed almost as big as my bedroom back home.

“Guys, check out this shower,” Cole insisted. “It’s got a massaging head on it.”

“And these towels are as soft as silk,” Steven remarked as he rubbed one across his cheek.

Just then, Mom peeked her head through our door. “Let’s go, boys, change into your bathing suits so we can hit the beach for a swim.”

“Yes,” I shouted, pumping my fist in the air for emphasis. “You don’t need to tell us twice about that.”

As we were changing, Dad strolled into our room. “I just hope we can let all six of you guys stay in one room. Are you sure we can trust you to behave?”

Evan sneered. “Mr. Busch, that is truthfully a very silly question.”

“Is it now?” my father asked as he landed a playful punch to Evan while the boy chuckled. “Well, I guess we can allow you to let loose and just have a grand old time. After all, how many times have you had the chance to go to Hawaii?”

“Um, how about zero times,” TJ answered.

“Yeah, Mr. Busch, we’re going to party down while we’re here,” Clayton insisted.

Dad merely grinned at us. “I’m glad you’re having such a good time. That’s all I want for you guys. You’ll have to arrange how you’re going to sleep with just two beds, but I imagine you can figure it out.”

“Who said anything about sleeping, Dad?” I teased. “We’re going to stay up all night and watch movies and drink Mountain Dew until we pass out.”

“Yeah, and pig out on popcorn and candy,” Cole shouted before giggling.

Mom overheard us as she strolled in to check on our progress. “Okay, now I see how it’s going to be.”

Steven quickly covered up. “Cole was just kidding, Mom. We’re going to behave like six perfect angels on this trip.”

Mom couldn’t resist laughing upon hearing that. “Not if I know the real Steven Busch.” With that said, Mom reached down and kissed Steven on the cheek, causing him to blush immensely.
